The Machine Operator is responsible for sorting pallets to grade using a SMETCO 300 series pallet sorter. The Machine Operator is responsible to inspect the quality of all pallets and assign a grade, while removing all trash and debris. Responsibilities also include achieving expected production requirements while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Must be accountable for achieving reLogistics results while maintaining reLogistics Core Values and Safety Standards
• Ability to complete all production paperwork with accuracy
• Communicates directly with Shift Lead or On Site / Plant Manager
• Hand stacking pallets to appropriate heights when applicable
• Removing jambs and clearing debris from stackers and conveyors
• Loading and unloading materials from trailers by hand
• Moving pallets or materials on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
• Stacking pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions
• Checking to make sure loads are secure
• Ability to utilize yard management systems to coordinate trailers moves
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
• Ability to maintain reLogistics efficiency and performance standards of production
• Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets reLogistics standards
• Good math, language and reading skills with attention to detail along with basic computer skills
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
• Follow instructions for keeping records
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, ability to pass a background and drug screen
• Open availability
• Understanding that overtime may be required and is considered mandatory
• Ability to work in extreme conditions to include but not limited to; elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time with minimal ability to walk around
• Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
• Having a good sense of balance
• Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
• Ability to work overtime and shifts up to 12 hours per day on a regular or irregular basis
